Technical Advantages:
Time-resolved fluorescence immunochromatography employs fluorescent microspheres encapsulated with the lanthanide element europium (Eu) as labels. Europium possesses two special fluorescent properties — time resolution and wavelength resolution — which minimize background fluorescence interference. Its fluorescence intensity is nearly 10,000 times stronger than that of conventional fluorophores, thereby significantly improving the sensitivity and specificity of the assay.
